Acts of Kindness in the Name
of a Child- Heart of
Hope Fashion Show
On October 2, 2007 there will be great acts of kindness at
the 1st annual "Fashion Show Fundraiser" to benefit the Angel
Fund. The Angel Fund was established in 2000 and is a component
fund of The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven. The
organization partners with Connecticut hospitals to provide
a memory box program to hospitals throughout the state.
The Angel Fund funds, purchases and distributes, free of charge
to partnering hospitals in Connecticut, beautiful boxes filled
with items carrying importance and sentiment immeasurable
to families whose babies are stillborn or who died shortly
after birth. The boxes include items such as the Angel Fund's
exclusive footprint pin, journal and memory book, a handmade
receiving blanket and burial gown, the books Empty Cradle,
Broken Heart and Tiny Hands Change the World as well as information
on national support groups and web sites.
Partnering hospitals in turn personalize each box and distribute
them to grieving families before they leave the hospital.
Caring labor and delivery nurses gently obtain the baby's
hand and foot prints, measurements and priceless photos to
include in the memory book. The baby's own hospital hat, measuring
tape and bracelets also become a part of the memory box.
In the name of a child: The Angel Fund also selects a family
in need, hospital or other charitable organization each year
to donate in the name of the children.
This event will take place Sunday, October 2, 2007 at the
Trumbull Marriott.
The fun will begin 11:15 am with Mike Riccio Sport auction
and exciting raffle table including celebrity items.
A delicious luncheon will be served starting at 11:45 with
an exciting show to begin at 12:15 pm including:

show with introduction and speak of her relationship with
the Angel Fund and Carolyn's room. |

Lord & Taylor, JC Penney fashions & The Childrens Place
will flash on the runway during the "Heart of hope" show
to the theme of "When Barry met Sally!" Music provided
by Peter Bockiaro of Pizzazz! |

chance to hear Mia Fanali, 2005 Star 99.9 Idol Winner
who will amaze our audience with her voice. Mia will be

Meet
Miss Connecticut 2007 - Miss Jeannine Phillips. Miss Phillips
will speak of her experience being crowned Miss Connecticut
and in her own words be an inspiration to us- "The most
important thing I've learned from my experiences is that
you should never let fears stand in the way of your dreams,"
she explains. "Always find a way to turn intimidation
into motivation. I am looking forward to using my own
experiences to inspire others to take a step outside their
comfort zones and take advantage of life's opportunities."
Miss Phillips is planning a career in the fashion industry
and will walk the runway with our models & be available
for personal photos. |

memorial tribute including song and butterfly release,
a tribute to children of all ages and a reminder that
kindness is the best tribute you can make to a life will
follow the show at 2 pm. Hearts of hope necklace available
at the event. |
